On Friday, at 5:00 am, the above pictured individual slipped into Chovevei Torah behind the cleaning crew. As they were busy sweeping and mopping, he entered the new hall that is soon to be completed and stole a tile cutter / grinder which is valued at a few hundred dollars.

The 77th precinct responded within minutes of the 911 call, and filed a police report and this incident is being investigating as a larceny due to the fact that there were other workers present in the building as well as the fact that there was no forced entry.

The crime was captured on tape by the Yeshiva’s closed circuit camera security system where the suspect was seen walking all around the bulding looking for anything of value. If you spot this person, please call 911 and tell them that you have spotted the person that committed the crime at 885 Eastern Pkwy on Friday May 5th.

maby he had ties to the cleaning crew?
but then why didint he get anything worth more?

  • Crime

Another crime feather in Moshe Rubashkin’s cap. Instead of fighting crime he encourages crime by investing his engeries in trying to kill Rabbi Schwei.

How long will the Vaad continue to let crime invade our neigberhood?

  • to crime

    Dear "To crime"

Facts – Under the last Vaad crime was much lower. Underthis Vaad crime has drastically increased.

By Mr. Klein’s funeral thew Vaad praised the police. Results the police protected the traffic light on Kingston and President for about a week’s time. B’h they were succesful and no one stole the trafficlight.

The shechuna was merited with more ticketsat the time. The main thing is that the murderes were never caught.

Since then we see a vast increase in crime. What is Moshe Rubashkin busy doing? Stopping crime? No. Perpetrating another crime of election fraud.

So you can denigrate Rabbi Shwei and Chanina but the facts remain. NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT THE GREAT INCREASE IN CRIME.

    Is this Rabbi Shwei’s fault?

    @ To Crime
from the look of it you are not a smart person. Yes Mr. Rubashkin might be a ball chesed but that doesn’t mean that he can do what he wants when he wants in this community. And nobody brought in Rabbi Shwei to make fights.

If you are a teanager, you should mix out. If you are an adult GROW UP! you seem to be one who likes to make fights instead of fixing the problems. This website if I am correct it was here to be informative. if you would like to make fights, i think i can say for everynormal person in this community LEAVE

  • annonymous

the guy looked like he knew what he was after and where everything was.

  • ghk

it only looked like he took some wires. and plus, how do u slip by cleaners, something’s not right

We need more of these cameras around crown hights. Every block should have one.

  • Dovid

the reason there was no crime in the last Vaad was because of Mayor Giuliani’s efforts and crime went down considerably. It had nothing to do with Chanina. I agree that we should get rid of Chaninia and that we need normal leadership in this community.

He was probably one of the cleaning crew. My brother learned there and once got his wallet or cell (4got which) stollen by one of the shvartzes that work there.

The problem here is neither Rubashkin nor Sperlin. It is Ray Kelly, who was police commissioner under Stinkin’ Dinkins Ymach Shmo. I assume Bloomberg, who is no Giuliani, brought him back to appease a certain element that happens to vote. In the meantime, I saw first hand yesterday how pathetic some of the affirmative action hires in the Police Department are (I had an unbelievably silly discussion with a traffic cop whose Jamaican accent I could barely understand, and who showed me business cards of rabbis from BP for some strange reason).

Moshe Rubashkin and Chanina Sperlin are not responsible for Ray Kelly. The only thing I can think of is perhaps we ought to unite with community leaders in Boro Park, and yes, with the Satmar in Williamsburgh (who are long past any disputes with us anyway) and the misnagdim in Flatbush, and make our voices heard in City Hall and Police Plaza.

I don’t think the Va’ad Hakohol is the vehicle for this – nevertheless it may pay to speak to Moshe Rubashkin, given that his family has plenty of connections in other communities. Perhaps the Shomrim groups in all of the areas can do it together, or perhaps someone with business or other connections in BP and Williamsburgh (other than M. R.) can find the right people.

  • Facts of life

Kelly was NOT commish under Dinkins at the time of the riot. The commish was Out-of-Town Brown who, characteristically, was in Texas at the time. Kelly had very limited responsibility at the time. Which is not to say that Kelly is any good.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the NYPD can’t be bought; Rubashkin’s millions have no clout with them. Nor does Moishe because of his recent matzif. He also has done all possible to undercut Chanina and diminish any clout he could excercise on behalf of the community.

I did not say that Kelly was the commissioner during the time of the riots, only that he was commissioner under Stinkin Dinkins. He served his time from October 1992 until January 1994 – the riots were Aug 1991 as we all know.

Al Sharpton (or whoever his successor is) and his ilk have intimidated the NYPD with their spoken and unspoken threats of violence if chas vesholom a young darker citizen is spoken to the wrong way when he is arrested for a breach of etiquette such as murder or aggravated assault. Somehow we need to show them that we are not going to let Sharptonians call the shots. It is a pity the Boro Park demonstration was such a silly mess; it seems that loud protest is the only language the NYPD, under the misleadership of Kelly and the wimpy Bloomberg, and stocked with affirmative action hires, understands these days.

Moshe Rubashkin’s felony conviction was not for any crime committed in NYC and any child can see that his sentence was excessive. Still, if we want anything to get done, it needs to be done by concerned residents, with or without or af tzeloches the Vaad Hakohol. Regardless of which side you stand on, or on no side, it is obvious the Vaad Hakohol is sadly paralyzed by internal politics.
