As Oholei Torah celebrates its achievements of the past fifty years, they are looking forward and planning to the future.
Backed by the generosity of Oholei Torahs dear friends, R' Shaya and Sarah Boymelgreen, Oholei Torah will break ground for a brand new community mikvah for men on Isru Chag Shavuos as they celebrate their annual dinner.
The mikvah, to be annexed to the eastern side of the Eastern Parkway campus, will feature more than 7,500 sq. feet of stunning amenities, and the utmost in comfort and dignity as such a project deserves. Building details include 26 showers, four boros each with separate entrances and exits, and a grand marble entrance.
The Boymelgreen's are dedicating this project to the memory of Shaya's grandfathers R' Yeshaya Shlomo HaKohen Altman HY“D and R' Levi Yitzchok Boymelgreen HY”D

Mikeee
Shaya you are a real icon in our circles. Keep up the great work.
Don-t mean to rain on Shaya-s Parade BUT
Can someone explain why we are building another men’s Mikvah when what the community needs more is another women’s Mikvah.
I’m not Chas V’sholom knocking the building of more men’s Mikvahs, the more the merrier and having one right by the yeshiva will allow, and encourage, the bochurim to go to Mikvah easily and on a regular basis.
BUT with all the men’s Mikvahs that are out there I feel the need for a women’s Mikvah more of a necessity. How is it possible that in a community of our size there is only one Mikvah? One of the Mivtziom is Taharas Hamishpacha; that does not mean only by shluchim, it means in Crown Heights as well. It should be easy for women to schedule times that are good for her, and not make them wait in on long lines.
Not to mention that the women’s Mikvah is a block away from a two yeshivas, who have bochurim walking by on their way to and from night seder. A Mikvah is supposed to be in a discreet place, on the outskirts of town, not on a busy avenue.
Once again I don’t mean to sound negative when something good is happening, but I thought something should be said.
are we ok ?
The plans seem very massive, will the mikvah be for only oholei torah bochurim, or the entire community?
Will it cost $$ to get in??
