One of malignant attributes rampant throughout the Western culture, especially the entertainment artists is something called; paparazzi. Thank G-D this form of stupity hasn’t crept into the jewish communities yet, maybe it’s better that we keep it that way.
Its just a picture, its not like anybody was runnig after him to get that picture. Someone was just passing by and saw a nice photo that could be taken, and now he wants to show it off to the world.

COME ON! Really! Avraham Fried is a public figure. Of course he deserves that we respect his privacy but it’s not like a picture here and an autograph there are some sort of crime. What do you mean by "What we want to turn our community into"? You mean that it’s wrong that our community values and embraces positive rolmodels like Avraham Fried?
Thanks to whoever took the picture and thaks to Rabbi Fried for agreeing to it. It’s a very nice picture

As a kid I was at a the Bar Mitzvah of a classmate who happened to be AF’s nephew, and the latter was in attendence. At that time he was relatively famous, but nowhere near where his fame is today.
Jokingly, I approached him during the dancing with a pen and paper requesting his autograph. He looked at me puzzlingly, and then began laughing as if it was the funniest thing he had seen in his entire life.

Needless to say, I never got that autograph.
