Police have a new clue in the shooting death of an Lubavitch man in Crown Heights, Brooklyn this week.
47-year old Efraim Klein of Union Street was hit by a bullet as he moved his van for alternate side parking in the early morning hours Tuesday. The vehicle went out of control and slammed into several parked cars before bursting into flames.
The motive is still unclear, but some investigators believe it could've been a stray bullet or some kind of road rage scenario.
Now the NYPD is circulating a photo of a white Chevy box van that was apparently captured on a surveillance video moments after the shooting about a block away. The van was traveling southbound on Schenectady Avenue. Police consider the van driver a possible witness and are urging the public to identify him or her.
Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS.

NYPD
last night (thursday night march. 2nd) there were cops everywhere patrolling, on foot and in cars. the cars were driving slow up and down the streets making themselves seen by putting on thier lights.
if this continues, things may improve around here.

There is a vigil memorial at the corner of Schenectady and Carroll St’s near the area were the shooting took place. Please place any flowers yartzeit candles that you can in the corner. We need to keep the issue alive and generate as much publicity about the issue.

How many people have such vehicles anyway? It shouldn’t be very hard for police to find this person since they can now narrow it down to a few hundred people.
Even this person is a supposed to be a witness and not a suspect. If they witnessed something and said nothing that alone would make them a suspect.

Some Notes and Observations:
I Passed by President and Kingston Last Night at 7:30pm – The Police "Post" was EMPTY (maybe someone was sleeping in the back or reading the paper or watching TV) no Police inside Visible. They have 2 cameras mounted and made sure to have them turned on so we can THINK they are very important.
They don’t want to run the engine with no one inside so they have a Power Wire to the Light Poll on the Corner. The Big Heavy wire across the sidewalk is reckless endangerment and a major tripping hazard for hundreds of people who pass the corner regularly.
1) One very small Camera in back of the Vehicle was/is Patrolling" (with the sun-visor LCD Monitor up front for passers-by to see (but no police watching) looking onto the Parked Cars in front of 1414. The Other Large Camera is pointed at Keser Cleaners – Very Impressive "Protection"!
2) Friday 2:00pm in front of the CHJCC:

The CHJCC windows are FULL of all kinds of posters and Notices HOWEVER, there is not one word about the Shooting – as though it never happened.
I was searching for any poster about the $30k Reward for Information. Absolutely ZERO information anywhere.
I have yet to hear of any one person who has seen a Reward Poster for information about the shooting, to be seen, ANYWHERE at all, in C.H.
All those people throwing money at this Reward…….what for?
Why is this supposed Reward Money being kept a virtual secret on the STREET?
Or is All this Reward Money just a Hoax?
