A Motorist pulled over for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign.

In an obvious attempt to look good the police posted up the Patrol Borough Brooklyn South Mobile Command Post on the corner of Kingston and President, and put cops on foot to walk up and down Kingston to give residents the “added comfort” that the Police are here to protect us. First the police removed the command post from Carroll and Schenectady (probably since they were scared someone will brake into it) and had it parked by the precinct, then the police decided to post it on Kingston and President, giving us residents what?

But who will pay for all the Police Officers over time? We will!!! From hundreds of observations made by residents of cops who were pulling over motorists for everything and anything, like turning without signaling and not completely stopping at stop signs. Other outrageous things included cops walking the beat getting bored and began checking cars inspections!!!

How long will we allow ourselves to be abused like this? Who will stand up and scream of the loss of a resident of our community? Will he have died in vain? Our community leaders have no backbone they do not stand up. This is a call for us residents to gather up together ourselves and make a stand!

Oy, I love all this added comfort business! I think all this is MIN HASHAMAYIM and eventually all Jews will be forced into the HOLY LAND!

This deception on the part of the NYPD MUST STOP!!!

The entire day they had officers n foot, in patrol cars, at the mobile commad post and parked on busy corners doing their thing to make the residents ‘feel safe’. We all knoow what else they were doing so I won’t elaorate. (I myself watched two people get stopped today!) But when I walked home tonight at 12:00, when the streets are relatively empty, and there’s no-one to pull-over and ticket, when criminals, muggers and gang members are out in full force, the only police I saw were two cars parked alongside each other in front of the JCM talking to each other & therby blocking the road, and the PBBS Command Center Which had no-one by it!!

When WE need them they are not here, but when they NEED it they are here!!

When THEY need to be here to make us ‘feel safe’, show us that they are ‘working’ to protect us, and to give out tickets they are out in full force. But when WE need them to protect us at night whe its dangerous to walk, and people are getting mugged, beaten, shot at, and murdered, then they disappear!

Webby, you’re 100% correct. It’s ridiculous. Please, do a community service. We need someone to organize a communtiy rally, either at the Police Station, or in front of the houses of our esteemed Vaad HaKohol. The BS has to stop. Gun control is not the issue. We need crime control.

We need cops on Schnectady, Utica, etc., not on Kingston!! We need "leaders" demanding of the City officials to tell the Police……. not to give out seat belt and cell phone tickets, but get the criminals behind bars. The Police know from where the shooting occurs. It’s no mystery. When our residents in "East Beirut" call the cops to tell the Police that they hear shooting, the cops reply, are they shooting at anyone?? What’s the difference???? Just the fact that there is shooting should be reason enough to get the cops down there.

Webby, we need you for info. Can you compile a "log" of the crime that has been occuring here? Make a meeting, let’s get organized. We need to get the word out to ourselves, firstly, and then to the media and City officials.

The 3 musketters at that press conference was an embarassment. Nothing personal against Chanina, but he can’t put together a grammatically correct English sentence. Not that there is anything holy about English, but ….. Reb Tzvi was not much better, and I have to admit, Moshe Rub was the best. He said one or 2 sentences and passed the baton to Devorah Halberstam.

We are looking to you for help, Webby.

  • Fed Up

Time to get rid of Chanina. He is an embarrassment to our community. When he gets up to speak in front of all the press, not only don’t we know what will come out of his mouth, he has no idea. Doesn’t the community see this embarrassment. LETS GET RID OF HIM, ONCE AND FOR ALL.

  • concernd

The Police Command Center should be at the corner of Schnectady and President not Kingston and President. The vaad hakohol they look great at photo ops. Unfortunatly for the rest of us that’s all they are great at.

  • irony

someone should go put a ticket on the window of the NYPD command post for parking by a hydrant!
    lol

  • Itchin- for change

Regards from "East Beirut"–we are still alive!
But we need to all band together to make sure that every CH resident STAYS alive in a SAFE neighborhood.
Let’s all get together at the 71st precinct tonight (7 O’clock maybe?) and let our voices be heard. We don’t need our "leaders" misrepresenting our situation and feelings and "brown-nosing" to the cops and mayor.
The $30,000 reward is great, but the money would better go to protecting our people and our streets. The large sum is for the CHJCC to save face and look like they care about the problem (when they only want to find this specific perp). We all know that there are many more like him out there.
We live here and we demand a change.
P.S. Perhaps this is finally our chance to prove that we only need alternate-side parking once a week, like the rest of the city. Our esteemed neighbor, Hy”D, was only outside because he had to move his car.
P.P.S. This may also be our chance to raise the speaking and language abilities of our "leaders," another few years in OT anyone?

  • president and utica

ok first of all all the ticketing and what not stop moaning with one comes the other you want cops in your area thats what there going to do as well no offense intended but residnets on kingston ave dont exactly need police protection i dont live in east beruit i live in crown heights on utica and president why dont all you people try walking there late at night we need police protection last time i checked most of these incidents happen there or in the surrounding streets also we dont have community leaders we have power hungry people who love to be in the spot light but yet we keep voteing them in

  • sheya

What we need is to make a protest in front of city hall demanding the resignation of Mike the (putz) Bloomberg, and an increase in the amount of police at the 71 precinct, and to reestablish the anti-crime units that we had under the Giuliani administration.

We need to alert the media and the public to the farce being perpetrated by this phony ticket writing Mayor, who puts up command posts right on Kingston Ave. and then harasses us to pay for the extra protection by ticketing us.

And why are there no posters put up throughout CH with Mr. Kliens photo and stating an award of 30,000 for information leading to the arrest of the killers? This is more important for the council to do than to coddle with these politicians?

  • Rubashkin-s Purim Seudah is Mechaper

    President and Utica,

You are 100% right when you say:

"We don’t have community leaders we have power hungry people who love to be in the spot light but yet we keep voting them in".

When we vote for Vaad Hakohol, we tend to vote for people who are know to have given a lot of Chesed and Tzedaka for example voting for Rubashkin known for giving out Tzedaka, and for Chanina for his political connections.

Who needs Ruabshkin’s "Purim Seudah" or to have him purchase Hats for the Bochrim, in 770, before Pesach, while allowing our blood to be Hefker, by collaborating with the Police: "Ticket, instead of Protect Policy"?

Who needs Chanina’s big Kovod in the Meyers office, if he doesn’t have the guts to speak out against the Meyers Policy of Using Police for financial Profit for the City.

Obviously non of this works for us, when Push comes to Shove, and they strike a deal with the Meyer, behind the scenes that:

"Our Vaad Hakohol pledges to NEVER EVER criticize the Meyer for his policy of using Police for Tickets instead of Real Protection (Shhh…… as long as the Meyer Pledeges more Money for the C.H.J.C.C.)"

    – It’s time we wake up that our Vaad_Politicians and Power Brokers in our Vaad are fully willing, ready and able ready to sell out our LIVES in exchange, for their Political Favor with the Meyer!

  • anonymous 3

you people all missed the point.
the cops were not there for us! they’re not for OUR PROTECTION or to make US feal good.

they were (are?) here because they think we’re going to riot. they’re here to protect THE SHVARTZES!

  • Ad Masai

The Silence of our Vaad Hakohol is deafening.

Why is there no criticism of the "System" coming out of the mouthes of the Vaad Hakohol?

Is it true that a deal was struck in exchange for their silence?

  • Pathetic

Now I know why I got a ticket for an expired meter 5 mins after my time ran out. Kingston and President is not where the main crime is! This command center should be parked in the hot spots. Kingston is the main street in CH and is always busy! I’ve already seen more cops patrolling, but in the wrong places. Utica, Schenectady…Come on…They better wake up and smell the coffee, i mean crime NOW!!!

How can more police " protection" protect people from stray bullets?

Well, if there would be police there whould be no shooting. Also there is no proof that it was a stray bullet.

  • to webby

Although i suport your Opinion, why dont you just report the news, and let the readers make Their own Decision.
    thanx for your work

  • Utica and Rochester

I don’t know what you call protection, but as i was walking to my house today -President b\w Rochester and Utica (about 4:25) I heard about 6 gunshots. No, they were not firecrackers, I know the difference between them cuz i hear them so often. I’m glad the police think they’re protecting us by stationing themselves on Kingston. They should go to other places that really need the extra security. I hope they do something about this.

  • president and utica

to utica and rochester i know the feeling i live there to and you hit it on the nail rubashkin sudah i personally support rubashkin i think chanina got to go some people belong in politcs but not behind a mic some vice versa but i have faith in rubashkin chanina has wore out his welcome the comand post should be on carrol and utica with a constant police presence yes granted it wont stop a stray bullet but it will make the shooters think twice before pulling it out now if the nypd will just do what there paid to do catch the son of a #$^ and make a statement that things like this will not be tollerated if not then i fell we should rise to arms if they can arm themselves and get away with why cant we rember on eastern parkway were a couple shmira units beat the day lights out of a guy breaking in to someone apt that guy and all his freinds will think long and hard before trying again

  • mendy

14 years ago was the murder of Mrs Lepian HY"D. There was then a demonstration at the police station, followed by a march (I dont remember where,i think to her house and then down utica). We need a REAL response NOW!!!!!!!!!

  • follow the law and u wont get pulled ove

there are laws when u drive like stoping at a stop sign it says "STOP" so stop dont slow down and not stop and u wont get pulled over and get your car inspected and have insurance its for u not them because if g-d forbid somthing happense it does not bite u where it hurts and u womt get a ticket and u wont have to complain .
now if u do get pulled over for NO REASON then put in a complaint to the city.
WHEN U FOLLOW THE LAW IT SAVES LIVES!!! (thats urs and other drivers and even ppl walking down the st.)
like using ur signals, coming to a full stop at a stop sign, not using ur cell phone, and HAVING UR LIGHTS ON AT NIGHT (i see it over and over again ppl not puting on their lights at night)and wearing ur seat belt that goes for children in the back seat as well.
drive safe and follow the law

Some of you need to learn how to write properly. Please use punctuation marks, and this is not cell phone messaging either. Some of these posts are not readable at all. You’re a disgrace to Lubavitch in public.

  • BrookAve

I’m moving to Midwood Street. It is a lot safer than Carroll and Schenectady.

  • follow the law and u wont get pulled ove

To follow the law and u wont get pulled over

You are right – don’t double park, or not feed the meter,"just for a minute", obey traffic laws, etc, use a headset, and you will not usually get a ticket.
Although, it seems that this duo that have had complaints have given out tickets even when the law was followed

It drives me crazy to see kids in the car – even in the front seat – without seat belts or carseats!

HOWEVER, the cops swarming on Kingston is ridiculous, they are needed elsewhere (and I live near Kingston), and by having additional coverage we risk additional scrutiny of other laws, but the police shoudl not be doing ONLY ticketing, as it seems to be presently
