Plattsburgh, New York - CrownHeights.info Has learned that at approximately 1:15am Motzoai Shabbos (Sunday morning) a Lubavitcher resident of Montreal was driving alone on the I-87 [New York State Thruway] South towards New York City when the driver suddenly lost control of his car due to heavy ice conditions on the highway and spun right off the pavement and in to the trees! This happened at approximately 30 miles south of the Canadian border. Boruch Hashem the driver was wearing his seatbelt and miraculously was not injured. The car was completely totaled and ripped apart by the impact. The driver had someone come pick him up and was safely taken back home.

This is another opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of wearing seatbelts and driving with extreme caution in such dangerous conditions. Be smart and Buckle Up, It Saves Lives.

We are the very lucky couple who was saved Motzei shabbos as we attemped to visit Crown Heights to be at our (wife’s) father SHloshim.

We were not speeding, we hit a clump of ice and lost controll.

many nice people stopped to assit us. A lovely Chassidishe couple from Monroe, stayed till the very end, allowing our 2 sons to stay warm in their car.

We are very lucky to be alive, and appreciate everyones good wishes.

    Thanks The Dubov’s Montreal

    To Bassie Dubov:
Sometimes comments get delayed in posting, maybe Dickens’ message was entered before yours got on the board. Besides, I don’t think anyone is blaming you, it’s just a place for people to put their "cute" remarks, called for or not.
B"H you are safe. Traveling fr Mont to NY at this time of year is difficult, we know of other families that have had situations, not becasue of speeding, but bec of weather.
May you only need to travel for simchos

mrs Dubov perhaps he was talking about the time it takes to buckle up that saves your life. not the speeding time.
