Hachnosas Safer Torah to Chabad of Georgetown
Yesterday [Sunday] there was a “Hachnosas Safer Torah” to the Chabad House of Georgetown which is run by R. Avrohom Holtzberg. The Torah was donated in memory of Rivka bas Reuven & Shoshana by Miriam bas Robert & Medelin Berkowitz, the Torah was then escorted to the Chabad House with the participation of a large crowd, the police even blocked off Ave. M, the block where the Chabad House resides due to the large crowd.
After the Hachnosas Safer Torah a large Seudas Mitzavah took place in the Chabad House, with the participation of R. Aryeh Gamliel, former Keneset Member who is a good friend of the family and flew in especially for the event, and the Rav of the Shul R. Yirmiya Levi, at the end of the event the last candle was lit on the large Menorah outside the Chabad House.

In general, Webby, please give your readers an indication as to where a particular Chabad House is. For example, Georgetown where? I presume it’s a neighborhood in Brooklyn, but I’m not sure. You should in general give a street address and the City and State where appropriate.
Excuse me, I see you mention Avenue M (Brooklyn). However, I’ve seen quite a few of your articles that do not indicate where the particular Chabad House is located.
Keep up your good reporting skills, and thanks so much for your website.

Georgetown I think is the next hot area. I am looking to buy another home there I feel the prices will go up as more and more people follow Rabbi Holtzberg and others. I found this article about the area and thought it might be helpful.

Many boutiques and small shopping centers inluding many kosher places, and the newly renovated King’s Plaza Shopping Mall supplies huge selection of stores and eateries, while Emmons Avenue strip in Sheepshead Bayon 7 minutes away provides trendy shops and fine dining. Great public schools, variety of private schools, many houses of worship, a Country Club, a Yacht Club, and 2 top rated summer camps, close vicinity to beaches, horsebackriding and bike baths with a strong Civic Association make the area one of the most desirable in Brooklyn.
