Fire in a Jewish Apartment Bulding

Crown Heights, Brooklyn – At around 10:45pm, Motzoai Shabbos a fire broke out in a Jewish apartment building. The incident took place on the second floor of 1650 President St. between Utica and Schenectady, many residents were forced to evacuate due to heavy smoke conditions in the building.

An ‘All Hands’ was called over FDNY radios and the first set of fire trucks arrived on scene within moments of fire being reported and immediately setup the ladder trucks and pump engines and began working on putting out the fire. As more firefighters showed up on scene they began assisting resident with the evacuation. Numerous Hatzalah and Shomrim members were also on scene assisting with the coordination of the evacuation. There was also a Hatzalah ambulance on scene in case there was anyone that required medical treatment.

The fire lasted for around 15 minutes at which time it was reported that the fire was confirmed to have been put out. B”H there were no injures and no one required any sort of medical attention. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    b”h everyone is ok besides for some smoke inhalation and having to sleep elswhere because of the smoke. kol hakovod to all the emergency units who responded so quickly and helped out all the people there and especially the fire dept. for coming in record time and getting the fire under control before it could go any further than it did – they even managed to save half of the residents apt. (besides for smoke damage) – yishar koach

    why do you think CH is stagnating? because they drove Fisher out. You go into BP Williamsburg you see new buildings going up like mushrooms after a rain but CH is stagnating. Think about it.

    my father is in hatzalah. he was there and when he came back he stunk like fire. it must have been really bad.

    To all of Crown Heights & readers I think that we should come together for once & continue the chesed of Shimshon find out who’s Apartment that was & maybe help them out like getting them A new set of cutlery or A new wardrobe or what ever else they might of lost in the fire when tragedy strikes it’s always easy to forget about the victim or victims

    the trth is that the reason thing have been this way for years is that fishers violation of our comuintys trust remains strong today. Whay do we assume that it even was a yid apt, that was damaged? It could be bec, this stry might be missing some vital info???

    if fisher would of continued there would be another 20 section 8 buildings and i would not be paying over $1000 a month rent. a shame that a few were jealous, things would have been much better…. i cannot even think of buying a house because of the skyrocketing prices, fisher was giving them away!! he was selling for chizuk hashchuna…. a shame….

    you all love to bash him as you sit in your section 8 apartment and pay 12 dollars a month in rent. your all a bunch of PHONIES. thats all. there are plenty of other people in our fine “shcunah” that have done bad things in their life times but they dont get the same publicity as him. what he didi was wrong but its in the past and it was resolved a few years ago. and they all made peace. but in the mean time while he was in exile all of you people who totally full of -you know what- were living in his buldings on peanuts for rent and you all sat around your shabbos tables and spoke about him negatively. think of the irony. i have literally seen people in one sentance bashing him and in the next saying how they are going to ask him for an apartment cause they are too lazy to get a real job and pay rent like the rest of us humans. its time for a little intelectaul honesty. if you hate him so much… MOVE OUT OF HIS BUILDINGS. but all the people that bash him really secretly admire him or wish or only dream they can have as much success as him or give as much tzedakah as him. but they never will cuz if they do actually aquire somehting of value then they will – G-D forbid it, heavens- have to pay more rent or even worse-gasp- have to move out. and that they will never do cuz that requires them to get off their tuches and get jobs and it is wat easier to just live in one bedroom place with 12 kids and pay 12 dollars rent and sit all day and talk about whata scoundrel fisher is. LOSERS.

    Is that where we have come to today?

    I am a big fan of fisher and i wish he would continue with the same zeal as he had before some guys got jealous.

    He is building a few buildings now (for normal prices..not like……) but he isnt taking over ch like he was doing back then.

    If not for fisher i dont know if we would still be living in ch!

    At one time he was just buying to have a jewish ch he got houses dirt cheap and gave cost price to whoever wanted, jsut because that is what the rebbe wanted.

    He gave buildings to the rebbe for aguch to build stuff, (which the city eventually too them away since they did nothing with it….. )

    btw besides for all his work in chizzuk hashchunah he was a chozer for the rebbe for a few years. he is not just some real estate guy, he is a talmid chochom and very frum yid. he did not eat any meat since gimmel tammuz, i really respect him

    if there were more section 8 buildings available, what makes you think you would get an aprtment there? Are you a fisherist, eg supported his stealing and causing the rebbe so much grief?? related to fisher? To this day you cant get a section 8 apartment unless he likes you or your family

    he still gives to everyone because he cares

    about the whole issue a bunch of years back:

    1. the matter was settled recently with the vaad hakohol

    2. there are some facts that was not so public

    3. the rebbe had agmas nefesh from the whole fight in general… (there is more to the rebbe aspect of this but now is not the time…)

    4. fisher was oublic enemy #1, he was gettign too powerfull and peopke were getting scared, so since they painted him enemy #1 everybody felt it a mitzvah to take down fisher…..

    he hasnt eaten any meat since gimmel tamuz? he is really a mekushar to the rebbe and he deserves all of our respect. I say that the next time anyone sees him we should all go ver to him and give him the respect he realy deserves.

    I happen to know whos apartment that was an dthey lost everything including children’s clothes , washing machine, dryer, furniture etc so I am sure they would appreciate any help people give.

    Maybe the Rebbe had alot of aggrevation about this because people wanted a PUBLIC FIGHT over a stupid thing like money.
    If the people were so worried about the Rebbes aggrevation why did they have to blow the intire thing up.
    Bottom line there were people jealous of FIschers money.So for almost twenty years nothing good has happened in this neighborhood.

    The comments started out to help the people in the apartment and it ended up with a Fisher bashing…

    If you can and want to help contact the family and help them or your local Rav and he will know how to get the money to the family in need.
    They did loose their entire kitchen, pots, dishes, silverware, a washer/dryer maching and clothing.
