Fire in a Jewish Home on Carroll Street

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A fire broke out in a Jewish home on Carroll Street this morning. The incident took place in 1340 Carroll, between Kingston and Brooklyn at around 10:00am.

More pictures in the Extended Article.

The fire originated in the basement, where some kind of foam board fell against the boiler and caught fire, instantly filling up the entire house with thick black smoke. Thank g-d the fire did not spread to the house itself and only caused smoke damage.

FDNY responded and had the fire out in less than 10 minutes. Thank g-d there were no injuries, and everyone got out safely.

Our brave grandson Ari C, risked his own life to rescue a woman on the second floor and did not want to be mentioned. We are soooo proud but not surprised that he would do such an act of bravery.

Wow this perfession seems like fun.

You get to smash windows, cut metal, climb latters and spray water. And certainly earn status of a hero.

Bubby Zayde- this is a different fire. You are talking about the fire that happened sunday night on President St and New York Ave.

How’s the rest of the equipment they had in the basement? Is anything salvagable? That stuff costs thousands!!

To “Git” who thought the pics were awesome:

You are not a member of the Freeman household. Your comment is insensitive and wrong. Those were pictures of a real family’s house, not some random photo shoot.

Next time, think before you comment.
