Rabbi Michoel Seligson Farbrengs with Yeshiva Tiferes Bachurim in Morristown

MORRISTOWN, NJ [CHI] — On Monday night, Vav Tishrei, the Yahrtzeit of the Rebbetzin Chana, the Rebbe’s Mother, was commemorated by the Bochurim of Yeshiva Tiferes Bochurim in Morristown, NJ. A Farbrengen led by noted Mashpia Rabbi Michoel Seligson took place. Rabbi Seligson told stories of the Rebbe mother, including how she used to make ink for her husband, Reb Levik. Today his published teachings exist due to her hard work and efforts to enable Reb Levik to continue writing.

Prior to her marriage, Rebbetzin Chana would write over Maamorim that arrived from Lubavitch in order that Chassidim would have copies to study. Rabbi Seligson shared the fact that some of the Niggunim the Rebbe taught, he first learned from his mother. Rebbetzin Chana would come to Farbrengens and sit in the women’s section, the area where Rabbi Groner’s office is now situated.

Many times before the Farbrengen began, the Rebbe would check to see if his mother had arrived.

Rabbi Seligson spoke about how Tishrei is like a market where you buy what you need and unpack it during the course of year. The energy acquired during Tishrei can fuel the entire year. He also spoke about one of the lessons that can be derived from the internet. With a click of one key on the keyboard an individual can send a message to an unlimited amount of people. Similarly, one positive deed, even a simple one, can tilt the entire world toward the Redemption. One who thinks that the internet was created for Wall Street is mistaken. Everything in this world was created for the benefit of the Jewish nation.

Rabbi Seligson gave a first-hand account of the events of the night of Shmini Atzeres 5738 (late 1977) and the following weeks and months. His account included facts shared by his father OB”M, the Rebbe’s personal physician. This is especially important, as this year marks 30 years since the Rebbe’s heart attack.

The Vov Tishrei Farbrengen went on till after 3 AM with many Bochurim wanting to continue.
