Rabbi Shmuel Lew speaks live Via Video Conferencing in Grand Rapids MI

Grand Rapids, MI — On Sunday Tes Vov Tammuz the Chabad House of Grand Rapids MI. under the direction of Rabbi YY Weingarten, was joined by Rabbi Shmuel Lew LIVE from London, England Via Video Conferencing. he spoke in connection of Yud Bas Tammuz, the struggle to maintain yiddishkiet under the communist regime, he related what he had heard from his principal in Torah V’das, who had heard it first hand from the Chofetz Chaim. The Chofetz Chaim looked across towards the Russian border (he was then in Poland) and said: There are millions of Jews there, and all on the shoulders of one, the Lubavitcher Rebbe!

Rabbi Lew went on to speak abut the new battle the Friediker Rebbe and the Rebbe took on upon their arrival to the United States.

The talk concluded with L’chaim and with the Nigun N’yet N’yet from Grand Rapids and with a group that joined Rabbi Lew in London at the Chabad House of Henden, led by Rabbi Gershon Overlander and with the assistances of Rabbi Dovid Katz who helped to put this program together, the warmth of a Chassidishe farbrengen was felt by all.

    Does anyone know who was Rabbi Lew’s principal in Torah V’Daas?

    Rabbi Lew left Torah Vdaas as a young bochur, so I suppose that the principal at that time was Rav Pam, who later went on to be the Rosh Yeshiva of the Beis Medresh. Just a guess.

    hellooooo – so what if webcam is used for yrs……what’s bigger news? that there was another mugging or wtvr ch”v – let’s share beautiful news such as farbrengens that unite those on both sides of the ‘pond’ and specifically if the farbrengen is given by such a great chossid and ohev yisroel as rabbi lew – who poshut inspires so many!!! keep up the great reporting!

    i don’t think the newswothyness was the fact that it was a webcam and a farby.. which are not novelty things. i believe it was more about a revered rabbi farbrenging on 12 tammuz and it being ‘covered’ by the ‘news’… i for one appreciate reading about some great work out there- inspiring others etc.
