NMB Yeshiva Farbrenged for 12th of Tammuz

Yeshiva Torah Ohr of North Miami Beach was graced by a visit by the head shaliach Rabbi Avrohom Korf serving in his 52nd year of shlichus for a farbrengen in honor of Yud Beis-Yud Gimmel Tamuz.

Rabbi Korf told over his first hand experience of growing up in the Former Soviet Union and how until the age of 14 when his family escaped, he learned in the literal underground Yeshivas set up by the Freidiker which consisted of a Rebbe for 7 children in rotating basements often sneaking past the Russian soldiers on duty.

He encouraged the bochorim of the yeshiva to emulate the ways of our Rabeim and commended them for their decision to have mesiras nefesh and dedicate a period of time in their lives for torah study. He also commented that he received a lot of nachas walking in and watching the bochorim learn during seder and that he is proud to have visited the only yeshiva in Florida which remains open in the summer.

Other noted Rabbis who have recently given shiuriim/farbrenged with the students this summer have been Chaya Amar, Shapsy Halperin, Yosef Marlow, and Leibel Schapiro.

Yeshiva Torah Ohr is directed by Rabbi Immanuel Storfer and Rabbi Yisroel Geisnky serves as the Rosh Yeshiva is a full time Yeshiva open to students 18-27 with a limited formal Jewish education background seeking to discover the beauty of Yiddishkeit.
