Shomo Veingrad visits Yeshiva Torah Ohr

Former NFL player Shlomo Veingrad visited Yeshiva Torah Ohr in North Miami Beach, FL for a farbrengen last Thursday. Veingrad told of his journey from life swallowed in the superficiality of the world.

to a more fulfilling life as he embraced Torah and Mitzvos some nine years ago after an orthodox cousin of his invited him over for a Shabbos meal and encouraged him to go to a Torah class. That one time Torah class has turned into a regular study session ever since then.

Veingrad travels to many places sharing his story and journey toward Yiddishkeit. After observing seder chassidus at night in the Yeshiva, he remarked how jealous he was of these talmidim who come from similar backgrounds to him, and have dedicated time to study in depth Torah throughout the day from the original texts.

He was amazed how in such a short time these first time students have acquired so many skills and encouraged them to continue to stay focused and take advantage of the wonderful opportunity they have been given.
