‘Brazillionaire’ Visits 770

Guma L. Aguiar, a Brazilian-born Jewish millionaire and philanthropist, droped by 770 last night, Wednesday, for a quick visit to the Rebbes room and Farbrengen.

    Its so nice to see how when there is a little bit of money involved, how all of our differences , with Moshiach and Yechi , are no longer on the table. The common denominator seems to be money , and greed , not Rbbe and Chassidus.

    Another interesting observation is how over the top things have to be today to impress a “gvir”. What happened to the days when the real gvirim were treated to some tuna and egg on plastic tableclothes in Oholei Torah , and offered a ride to 770 on a school bus ! The only thing mattered was the Rebbe , not the Sushi , Grey Goose , Fine Wines and 3 kinds of herring.

    some of you have major issues like jew lover above off the bat what’s wrong with wining and dining our fellow yids?? So what? if thats what brings a few bucks so be it! Unsure what’s going on here on this posts but I sense and smell a major jealosy issue.
    For those nimble minded its what 15 years since then? It’s way different these days – the times have changed totally and what you/we had 15 years ago is not the same what its like today in all aspects.
    If this is what we need to do to keep the money flowing..great. Don’t lose focus on what the whole picture is.
    I like his security, I take it those two behind him are ex-mossad/shin-bet .. why don’t you take it up with them I’m sure they’ll help you “understand” the issues you got! ;)

    FYI If a “gvir” becomes poor, the torah mandate that we reinstate him to his original state and quality of living. So if a gvir still has him money, of course we should treat him the properly, according to what he is used to. Its normal, its respectful, its expected, and it benefits hundreds of Jews and Shluchim!

    the people posting here show their lack of ahavas yisroel and amaratzus. Shulchan Oruch (anyone ever read it?) states clearly you can call up a gvir to the Traoh even if he is a visitor etc. in order to benefit the community through his later tzedoko

    I wish you would all just grow up, and leave your petty jealousy of Guma and the Rebbe’s Shluchim behind. Guma has a lot of money apparently. Apparently he shares lots of it with noble causes including Chabad. Hence he receives appreciation and respect. This is not rocket science!
