Red Wave in Crown Heights: 5,346 Lubavitchers Cast Republican Ballots
The Crown Heights Republican Committee (CHRC) thanks the 5,346 members of Anash that came out to vote for Republican candidates, including Bruce Blakeman, in Tuesday’s General Election, delivering a strong turnout and sending a clear message to elected officials across New York State.
The turnout represents a significant increase compared to the 2022 Midterm Elections, when 4,263 Lubavitchers casted their ballots — an increase of more than 1,000 voters this year.
Some of the strongest Republican voting blocks were concentrated along Empire Boulevard, Montgomery Street, Crown Street, and the Kingston Avenue–Troy Avenue corridor.
Other noticeable large Republican voting blocks were from residents within the surrounding streets of the MEGA’ Homeless Drug Shelter and in close proximity to the shuttered Kingsbrook Shul in South Crown Heights.
While the election results may not have gone our way, one thing is clear Crown Heights has made its voice heard regarding important issues such as the dumping of homeless drug shelters all over the neighborhood and the discrimination ban at Kingsbrook Synagogue. We sent a powerful message to politicians in Albany that our votes cannot be taken for granted. Our community deserves to be heard, our concerns deserve attention, and our elected officials must finally take the needs of Crown Heights families seriously.
The Crown Heights Republican Committee believes that political participation cannot begin and end on Election Day. We encourage more members of the community to become involved in the political process in future elections — whether by coming out to vote, encouraging friends and family to register, volunteering, or even stepping forward to run for public office.
Our community has a voice, and the more actively we participate, the stronger that voice becomes.
The Crown Heights Republican Committee remains committed to helping our community get involved, making sure our voices are heard, and building an even stronger presence in future elections.
Thank you to everyone who participated. This is only the beginning!
