A special Children’s Hakafos program will once again take place in Crown Heights over Simchas Torah, providing children and families with an opportunity to celebrate the Yom Tov with singing, dancing and Hakafos in a child-friendly setting.
The program will take place Motzei Shabbos, 22 Tishrei 5787, with doors opening at 7:00 p.m. Maariv and Hakafos are scheduled from 7:20–8:40 p.m.
The program is organized with designated entrance arrangements for different age groups:
Boys ages 10 and under: Enter through the main doors of 770.
Girls ages 6–12: Enter through the 770 driveway.
Mothers with babies ages 2 and under: Enter through the main doors of 770.
Mothers and children ages 3–5: Enter through the 770 Sukkah.
Limited seats and space are available.
The Rebbe’s Sefer Torah
The program will also include an opportunity for mothers and children to kiss the Rebbe’s Sefer Torah.
Mothers and children will be able to kiss the Sefer Torah by the Kingston Avenue side of 770 from 6:30–6:40 p.m., and again following the Hakafos.
Boys and fathers may return to kiss the Rebbe’s Sefer Torah during the main Hakafos in shul.
Following the children’s program and Tahalucha, 770 will reopen at approximately 9:45 p.m. for men and bochurim, allowing them to participate in the main Hakafos.
The organizers remind families that nothing should be carried until after Shabbos has ended and “Boruch Hamavdil” has been said.
The Children’s Hakafos offer young Crown Heights residents a special opportunity to experience the joy and excitement of Simchas Torah while allowing the adults to later join the main Hakafos at 770.
