Housing Lottery Launches for 920 Montgomery Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 920 Montgomery Street, a six-story mixed-use building in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Originally built in 1920, the structure yields eight residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are three units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $111,532 to $238,160.
Residences are equipped with patios or balconies, air conditioning, intercoms, washers and dryers, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes. Amenities include an elevator. Tenants are responsible for electricity as well as gas for stove and hot water.

Rent for a room,studio,or 1 bedroom?
TR does the math
The 3 out of the 8 apts priced 130% AMI is affordable for only 20% of people in the area. 80% cannot afford them. This is not affordable housing. Yet the developers still receive tax breaks and incentives for the whole building? Let’s call it what it really is: unaffordable housing. The 5 market rate units are REALLY unaffordable. This is Crown Heights, not Brooklyn Hights.

ASE’, Ive been shouting this into the void for a minute now.
Housing connect is a scam. Anyone who can “afford” this rent doesn’t need a lottery. The city, HC and these developers should be ashamed if themselves.
