Bingo Wholesale Expands Closer to Crown Heights with $50 Million Brooklyn Acquisition
by CrownHeights.info
Residents of Crown Heights may soon have a much shorter drive to one of Brooklyn’s most popular kosher shopping destinations.
Bingo Wholesale has completed the purchase of a large industrial property at 18 Warsoff Place in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area, paving the way for what is expected to become a new Bingo supermarket location significantly closer to Crown Heights than the chain’s current Brooklyn store in Boro Park.
The $50 million acquisition was finalized through Bingo’s holding company, Norworth Holdings LLC, following years of legal disputes that delayed the transaction.
The property includes a nearly 70,000-square-foot industrial condominium unit as well as additional development rights, bringing the site’s total buildable area to more than 215,000 square feet. The purchase was completed through multiple transactions involving members of the Follman family, who owned the property.
For years, the sale was tied up in litigation after one family member sought to block the deal, arguing that the property’s valuation was too low and claiming authority to veto the transaction. With the legal battle now resolved, Bingo has officially secured the site.
While the company has not yet publicly announced construction timelines or opening dates, the acquisition represents a major step in Bingo’s continued expansion throughout Brooklyn.
For the Crown Heights Jewish community, the development could provide a welcome alternative to traveling to Boro Park for Bingo’s well-known selection of kosher groceries, household items, fresh produce, and bulk products. The Bedford-Stuyvesant location sits just minutes from Crown Heights, making it substantially more convenient for local families.
The new location would also strengthen kosher shopping options in central Brooklyn, serving not only Crown Heights residents but neighboring Jewish communities as well.
As plans move forward, many local shoppers will be watching closely for announcements regarding construction and an eventual opening date.
