Free Transportation Available to Help Crown Heights Voters Get to the Polls

As ‘early voting’ is well underway this week, voters across the 43rd Assembly District head to the polls, a free transportation initiative is making it easier than ever for residents to cast their ballots and have their voices heard.

Throughout the day, free round-trip rides will be available from The Dreidel, located at the corner of Kingston Avenue and Eastern Parkway, providing convenient transportation to polling sites across the district. The service is designed to ensure that transportation is never a barrier to participating in this important election.

Rides will depart and return every 30 minutes between 12:00 PM and 7:30 PM, allowing voters flexibility throughout the day. The transportation is completely free of charge and available to residents throughout the 43rd Assembly District.

With turnout in this election currently running extremely low from all communities in the district, every vote carries even greater weight. As of now, fewer than 800 voters have cast ballots in total, underscoring how important it is for community members to participate. In an election where turnout is low, a relatively small number of votes can have a significant impact on the outcome.

Organizers say the goal is simple: increase voter participation and help every eligible voter exercise their right to vote. Whether someone lacks transportation, has difficulty getting to their polling location, or simply prefers a convenient ride, this service is available to assist.

“Every vote counts, and every vote matters. By providing free transportation, we are helping ensure that everyone has the opportunity to make their voice heard and participate in shaping the future of our community.”

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the service, bring friends and family members to vote, and remind neighbors that transportation assistance is available.

Election officials and community leaders continue to emphasize the importance of voter turnout, noting that local elections are often decided by a small number of votes. With turnout currently under 800 voters, this election remains wide open, and every additional voter who comes to the polls can make a meaningful difference.

Voters needing transportation can go directly to The Dreidel at Kingston Avenue and Eastern Parkway during operating hours and board one of the regularly scheduled rides.

Make your voice heard. Get out and vote. Our community, our future, our vote.
