PSA: Street Closures This Sunday for Brooklyn Half Marathon to Impact Crown Heights

Residents of Crown Heights should prepare for significant street closures this Sunday, April 26, as the NYC Runs Brooklyn Half Marathon takes place across large portions of Brooklyn.

The race will bring thousands of runners through North Brooklyn, Downtown Brooklyn, and into central neighborhoods, with portions of the route directly affecting access to and from Crown Heights—particularly near Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Parkway.

The race route includes:

Eastern Parkway between Grand Army Plaza and Brooklyn Avenue

– Nearby major arteries such as Flatbush Avenue and Ocean Avenue

These closures are expected to disrupt normal traffic flow, limit vehicle access, and impact local travel throughout the morning and early afternoon. Residents should anticipate delays and plan alternate routes in advance.
