Worlds Within: A New Podcast By The Bereishis Foundation
by Azriel Boymelgreen
In many Jewish communities, the most meaningful conversations rarely happen on a stage. They unfold in day to day life. Around the Shabbos table, in conversations after davening. They happen in the grocery aisle while picking up a last-minute item for Shabbos, during school pickup as parents wait for their children, or in a quick exchange on Eastern Parkway. These small, everyday moments are often where the most honest parts of life are shared.
In those spaces people speak openly about challenges, growth, faith, family, and the complicated time of living a Jewish life. There is warmth and familiarity in these exchanges, a sense that someone understands the language of your world without needing much explanation.
Yet, once the moment passes and everyone goes home, those conversations often remain within small circles. Stories stay private. Lessons that could resonate with many others are rarely heard beyond the immediate community. The wisdom that lives within everyday experiences does not always travel far.
A new Crown Heights based podcast is working to open that circle a little wider.
Worlds Within, hosted by Chana Kaiman , LCSW-RPT of the Bereishis Foundation, creates a space where the kinds of conversations that naturally happen in Jewish communal life can reach a broader audience. The podcast offers listeners a glimpse into the inner world of Jewish life through real stories and honest dialogue.
The name itself reflects a deeply Jewish idea that every person carries an entire world within them. Behind every face in shul is a story. Behind every family is a journey. Within our community there are layers of experiences that are rarely spoken about openly yet hold tremendous meaning.
The podcast invites listeners into those worlds.
Through thoughtful conversations and personal storytelling, Worlds Within explores the realities people are living with, the questions they wrestle with, the challenges they navigate, and the ways they discover strength, faith, and connection along the way. The conversations are not about presenting polished narratives but about creating room for authenticity and reflection.
In many ways the podcast mirrors something that has always been central to Jewish life. Our communities have long been shaped by dialogue. Whether through learning together in chavrusah, sharing insights around the Shabbos table, or talking through life’s moments with friends and neighbors, conversation has always been a powerful way of building connection.
Worlds Within simply brings that tradition into a new space. By taking the kinds of exchanges that often happen quietly in everyday life and giving them a thoughtful platform, the podcast allows listeners to hear experiences that may feel deeply familiar while also opening the door to stories from beyond their immediate circle.
For lots of listeners, hearing someone speak honestly about their own journey can be powerful. A story may reflect a personal experience, offer a different perspective, or remind someone that they are not alone in the questions they carry.
At its heart, Worlds Within reflects the power of connection between our communities. When people share their stories openly and others take the time to listen, something meaningful happens. The distance between individuals begins to shrink, and the sense of belonging that defines Jewish communal life becomes stronger.
In a time where conversation often feels rushed or superficial, Worlds Within offers something different. It invites people to slow down, to listen deeply, and to recognize the many worlds that exist within the people around them.
