Cheeryos Childcare Center Announces Delay In Opening Date After FDNY Declines To Allow Occupancy

by CrownHeights.info

Cheeryos Childcare Center, the much-anticipated center opening in the newly constructed building on Crown Street, has announced to eager parents that they will not be opening in time for the summer due to the FDNY declining to issue a certificate of occupancy.

“As you know, we were hoping to open our new Cheeryos Childcare Center this summer,” they wrote in an email to parents. “Unfortunately, due to ongoing construction work in the building above us, the FDNY has not been able to provide final approval for us to open safely.”

Cheeryos Daycare is a dream for many Crown Heights families, with a 9:00am to 5:00pm schedule and an “everything provided” plan. Small class sizes for 0-3 years of 8 to 12 children, and two dedicated teachers per room as advertised on their website, fill a much-needed gap in the community’s infrastructure.

At present, Cheeryos plans to open in time for the coming school year in September.

Not a service to the community. This is a school that’s thinking about themselves and not the community. They led everyone on that they would be open and now left over a hundred families with no school.

BINGO. Its a money making machine. They ONLY want voucher students. What about the rest of us that cant produce the paperwork to get vouchers? OR dont qualify by a small margin. What were they thinking ? That a building that still is loading heavy construction material would pass inspection? Why shouldn’ they promise that? The faster they open the more money. These vouchers caused tuition to go up

Cheeryos has been promoted as a dream solution. But it’s important to understand that the program exclusively accepts government funded vouchers, operating entirely on taxpayer money. In many cases, parents are misrepresenting their income /employment. There’s nothing noble about a program that rewards deception and profits from it. Start asking who is really benefiting and at whose expense?
