New Pro-Palestine Demonstration Scheduled For Monday Likely To March Towards Crown Heights

A “do-over” from Thursday night might be coming to Crown Heights with the planning of a pro-Palestine demonstration likely to march towards our community.

According to flyers distributed on social media, the “protesters” plan to assemble at The Barclay’s Center Monday night at 7:00pm, with calls to march into Crown Heights following that.

Crown Heights Shomrim has released a PSA stating that they have been in constant contact with the police department and have been assured that Crown Heights will be protected and that the agitators will not pose a threat.

A small “protest” by around two dozen individuals against a visit by Itamar Ben-Gvir to Crown Heights ended in chaos after community members stood up to the “protesters”.

Since Thursday night, social media has leaned heavily towards the actions of the community, with support pouring in from all sides, with the pro-Palestine “demonstrators” looking to expand their turnout through instigations of racial tensions.

Recent calls for protest have included calls to the African-American and non-Jewish community of Crown Heights to join, using recent tensions and age-old tropes to incite them against the Jewish community.

Shomrim urges the community NOT to go to the Barclay’s Center and to stay within the law should the protest come into Crown Heights.
