Achdus Basket 5785 – From Community Project to Purim Powerhouse

What started over 20 years ago as a small PTA initiative has grown beyond what anyone imagined. Today, Achdus Baskets reach over 2,500 homes across Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Remsen Village, Brownsville, and surrounding neighborhoods – with beautifully prepared Shalach Manos delivered directly to families in time for Purim.

Behind the scenes is a massive operation that takes months of planning. Thousands of items are carefully ordered and packed, with dozens of routes meticulously coordinated. Packages are then hand-delivered by our dedicated block ambassadors, all made possible with the help of our amazing bus drivers.

This year marked a new chapter, as Achdus Basket transitioned from the PTA to the Oholei Torah Development Office. While the team may have changed, the heart of the project remains the same: you.

This is about making it easier for you to give. It’s about making it meaningful, beautiful, and thoughtful. And going forward, it’s about building a system that reflects what you want – because this isn’t just an Oholei Torah project anymore. It’s a community project.
