Oholei Torah 8th Grade Hosts Father/Son Morning

For a busy father, what could be better than the opportunity to spend a morning immersed in davening and learning in a Yeshiva atmosphere?

Sharing that morning with your son.

Fathers of the 8th grade class of Oholei Torah were invited to spend a special day in which they davened, learned and got a lot of Nachas from their child.

The morning began with Chassidus before davening. The fathers paired up with their sons to learn, B’Chavrusa, Chassidic insights into the mitzvah of Sefiras Haomer.

A beautiful davening followed the Chavrusa learning. The voices of hundreds of fathers and their children harmoniously blended together in song and heartfelt tefilos.

They were then treated to a delectable breakfast buffet filled with fresh pastries, refreshing fruit platters, yogurts and a cereal bar.

Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum then took to the stage to address the bochurim. He described the steps of growth that a bochur goes through in his journey from Cheder to Yeshiva.

This was followed by a special presentation of various awards to different Talmidim who are excelling in both Shmiras Hasedarim and Avodas HaTefilla. The awards were presented by Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Wilhelm.

The talmidim who would be featured on stage at the Chidon Halacha were announced. The Chidon Halacha will take place on Chof Ches Iyar. The boys shone with pride as their names were called, and the fathers shone even brighter.
The morning finished off with an in class Gemara shiur during which fathers and sons learned together and were given a chance to review the material.

The bochum continued the rest of their day with a skip in their step, happy to include their fathers in their tremendous accomplishments, and the fathers left with their hearts filled with yiddishe, chassidishe Nachas.
