Franks, Burgers and a Siyum Mark Year’s End

n what has become an annual tradition for Rabbi Borenstein’s eighth grade class, they all got together in the backyard of his Balfore Place home for a Siyum and a barbeque.

The Siyum was held on Masechta Megillah during which the Bochurim enjoyed franks and burgers.

After the barbeque the class all went to Lefferts Park for a game of baseball.

Contrary to todays ills some rabbeyim really go out of the way.
This rebbe in particular is known to be quite with it while maintaining chassidushe standards and is very much liked by all talmidim that pass thru his doors.

    To Rabbi Borenstein.
Wow! I remember learning Meseches Megilla with you, it was most wonderful and interesting. You were a great teacher who taught with vigor and integrity, and most of all we learnt and understood what you taught us. Those days are well remembered and greatly missed. Glad to see you still going stong.
I must admit, we didn’t have an outdoor recreational Siyum back then, only a formal one in the banquet hall, yet it is well remebered. Rabbi Lustig’s speach and the guest speaker whos name I don’t recall made us feel proud and accoplished.
This feeling I believe, is shared by most of us of the class of 5756.
We can only wish you many more years of what you do best.
    Your proud student,
    Dovid.
