Students Celebrate Birthday of Beloved Menahel

Students at Yeshiva Chovevei Torah in Crown Heights celebrated their beloved menahel Rabbi Mendy Blau‘s birthday with much fanfare.

Early Thursday morning, They hung up signs with birthday wishes all over the neighborhood, and strung a banner across Kingston Ave.

After the morning seder, they decorated the ‘Zal’ with balloons and streamers, and surprised their mentor with a brand new desk as a gift. They then sat down for a farbrengen in place of their lunch break, which lasted until the end of the day’s studies.

The lavish farbrengen was sponsored by Gombo’s Bakery – which donated a birthday cake and other baked goods, and Bunch-o-Bagels – which donated many bagels and salads.
