Crown Heights [CHI] — At around 12:30 today a major collision occurred at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Albany Ave. An NYPD ESU (canine unit) vehicle was reportedly following another vehicle, when the driver lost control and slammed right into a traffic signal pole. The force of the collision ripped the pole up from its foundation and knocked it over.

The NYPD and FDNY arrived at the scene and extricated one officer who was pinned inside the vehicle. He was rushed to Kings County Hospital, and his condition is not known at the moment.

It is not known if any of the dogs inside the vehicle were hurt in the collision.

    # 1 AND # 3. Are you for real????? I know the officer involved in the accident and I can tell you all he’s a standup man and a GREAT POLICE/K-9 OFFICER. He turned his police K-9 van to miss a kid on a bike instead putting his own life on the line…… He was on the way to another police call when this happen. So next time big guy think before you talk!!
