Motorists Beware: Two Hour Parking Limit on Kingston Enforced

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Did you know that you are only allowed to park for up to two hours at a time in front of the stores on Kingston Avenue? Traffic agents have been spotted on Kingston issuing parking tickets for this very violation.

Shopkeepers told CrownHeights.info that since the meters were removed, motorists have been taking up all the parking on the avenue as if it is regular street parking, and it has been hurting their bottom line.

Despite the lack of meters, parking regulations state that it is only permitted to park in a single spot on Kingston for two hours in total between the hours of 9:00am and 7:00pm. The violation carries a $35 fine.

Owning a car in such a densely population place seems like a bad idea.

Maybe if everyone got rid of their huge SUVs and drove Smart Cars then it wouldn’t be so bad.

I believe you can fight and win any tickets given for this. The traffic agent has to watch your vehicle for the entire 2 hour period before giving you a ticket (since a person could easily have gone and come back to the same spot) and I am sure no traffic agent is sitting watching 1 car when they could be giving out tickets somewhere else. I am sure the muni meters will be installed soon

To # 2, the traffic agents mark the tires with chalk and the and they go up and down the streets every now and than to look, and they know when the cars were marked. And that’s when the get tickets, so to avoid that you would have to go to your car to keep looking to see if ur tires are marked and than just brush it off…
