Long Awaited Paving of Kingston Avenue Begins

After month of extra and needless waiting, the paving of Kingston Avenue finally began this Monday morning; the work commenced from Empire Blvd. until President St., and is expected to continue throughout the day tomorrow.

The first layer of asphalt, known as binder, is the first of two layers that gets laid. Contractors said that by tomorrow the second layer should be completed all the way up through Eastern Parkway.

You should write“after a month of needlessly waiting” as the shop owners of Kingston Ave. requested the DOT to push of paving that was suppose to be done erev Yom Kippur. Then, the committee from Simchas Bais Hashoava asked for another extension. So with all due respect, its our fault that it took so long to be repaved, not theirs.

However they could have done it during Rosh Hashana when noone was driving. It would have been very logical then!

    Question:

How long after they finish renewing our streets will companies like ConEd and Notional Grid move in to demolish our newly refurbished streets?

I wager that in will take less then 24 hours.

In six months time, Kingston Ave. will resemble the same Kingston Ave. before the construction.

    What do you think?

looks like patches not paving being done…. hope it’s better when it’s finished

when I was there for Sukkot I thought it was wrong for them to be working because the noise during YomTov was terrible and it was hard to walk around the workers on Presidants street

    glad it’s being finished now
