President Street Raccoon Captured, Removed

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A raccoon made infamous here on CrownHeights.info was captured in the alleyway by one crafty resident, but after its capture they did not know what to do with the hostile animal.

In the end it was Shomrim and police who came to the rescue and took the scared creature off.

“now I don’t have to worry when letting my kids out to play” said a resident, adding “the raccoon has been a concern for over a month now, eating out of the trash and scaring off children.”

  • Not Scary

Oh c’mon. With all the bullets flying on President Street that little guy isn’t scary at all.

  • RESIDENT ON THE STREET

THIS RACOON LOOKED LIKE A MIXED BREED. IT WAS VERY LARGE AND LOOKED MORE LIKE A COYOTE THAN A SOFT ROUND RACOON. IT TRIED TO GET IN THROUGH THE PORCH EREV SHABBOS, FRIGHTENING ME AND MY GRANDCHILDREN. I DONT HAVE ENOUGH WORDS TO THANK MY GOOD NEIGHBORS AND SHOMRIM.

  • fuzzy

I think he’s cute with those huge eyes. So much make-up, like some women round here.

  • come ON!

They just left that poor animal in a cage?!? No, I am not with PETA, but that just seems downright inhumane. Animals were made to roam the earth freely, not spend time in an enclosed area. Write me off as a raving eco-friendly nutjob, but that little guy does not harm you as much as you think he does.

  • mena

i tell u what to do, u fill up a bucket with water and put that trap with that animal in, or give it to someone for adoption.

  • flatbusher

you think you caught the racoon, they come in groups of five or six in flatbush, maybe now i will only see four as the leader went to crown heights

  • Sara is Right

Sara, you’re right! It IS Levi Huebner!

Do something NOW before it escapes!

  • Done Right

    1) Coyotes and raccoons cannot breed.

    2) Why was he not given a job by the Vaad haKohol?

  • to # 9

The trap was loaded into the back of a cop car and driven away to animal control. It was not just left there.

  • Cage the Vaad, not the raccoons!

Can we put Ephraim Setton in a trap and take him to animal control? For that matter, what about the ganovim in the CHJCC? This poor schnook of a raccoon just steals food to survive.

  • shocked!

#9 You are so CORRECT! This is PURE Tzar bar Lechayim!!! Raccoons are totally harmless, unless you threaten them-& yes they do eat GARBAGE-that’s their pastime! We have raccoons all over town & who would DARE capture it??? Are you going to do the same when another one, two or three appear??? this is ridiculous!
    Just leave the animal alone!!!

  • let put him in use

  • Who Are You Raccoon?

What are the spiritual implications of raccoon found in CH?

Why raccoon and not the other animal?

    Does raccoon represents something?

Is it a sign from above?

Is the location of the catch means something?

Does it mean that Shomrim are more efficient that Shmira?

Did anybody informed raccoon’s family of his capture?

  • to # 19

Very noble name for raccoon – “Tzar bar Lechayim”

The Czar son of the Lechaim.

Is his father’s name really Lechaim or a nick name given for excessive alcohol abuse?

  • to sara satton

    you said:
“that looks just like levi heubner”
but is that not Ephraim Satton??!

  • Cage the Vaad, not the raccoons!

19, let people with more knowledge of Judaism and animal control than you have teach you a lesson.

First of all, it is tzaar baalai chaim.

Second of all, that little menace carries diseases and does a lot of damage. It can ruin brick – happened to my parents when I was a boy.

That raccoon is going to live out his life in a park where he belongs thanks to someone who did the right thing instead of poisoning him (which also is not tzaar baalai chaim if you use a quick-acting poison, but I don’t think you can buy such poison in the US without a license, and it may be dangerous to use, so trapping is the only humane solution),
