CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A clear brisk morning greeted players in the Crown Heights softball league who opened the 2011 season today. Beginning at 9:45am the Daily Steals Kloppers squared off against the Landmark Funding Red Heifers. Later on the Advantage Wholesale Skullcaps played the Tribe.

Season Opener: Kloppers Fall to Heifers, Tribe and Skullcaps Draw

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A clear brisk morning greeted players in the Crown Heights softball league who opened the 2011 season today. Beginning at 9:45am the Daily Steals Kloppers squared off against the Landmark Funding Red Heifers. Later on the Advantage Wholesale Skullcaps played the Tribe.

In the first game, which took place in Lefferts Park, the Heifers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but the persistent Kloppers chipped away and came back to tie the game, only to lose it in the bottom of the 7th.

In the second game, the Tribe and Skullcaps kept it tied at 1-1 throughout the game which went in to extra innings ending in a draw.

Next set of games will be taking place on Tuesday starting at 7:30pm with the Sweet Expressions Blue Fringes going up against the Tribe in St. Johns Rec Park located on Troy Avenue and Prospect Place. Following them at 9:00pm the Skullcaps will face the Yaffa Wigs Mad Hatters.
