Oholei Torah’s Tzeischem L’Sholom

This past Thursday Evening, Beis HaMedrash Oholei Torah celebrated a Gala Tzeischem L’Sholom of the most elite Tmimim in Lubavitch today, who will be going, iy”h to communities around the world spreading Torah and Yiddishkeit.

The bochurim prepared with great dedication this past year to merit being a shliach of the Rebbe. Preparations included Limud Niglah and Chassidus, Shmiras Hasedorim and Yiras Shomaim.

The Raitport Beis Hamedrash was full with the talmidim, their families, friends, members of the community and the entire Hanholas Hayeshiva.

The event began with the Rebbe’s Kapitol read by the Mashgiach Rabbi Shmaryahu Roitblatt.

On behalf of the parents we heard from Rabbi Boruch Lepkivker. Rabbi Yosef Raices, spoke as one of the first melamdim in Oholei Torah and also on behalf of the Grandparents. Oholei Torah’s Executive Director, Rabbi Yosef HaKohen Rosenfeld and Mashpia Rabbi Nachman Shapiro spoke on behalf of the Hanholas Hayeshiva.

The Talmidei who spoke include Daniel Shochet, Yosef Rivkin, Mendel Polter, Avrahom Aba Wolosow, Peretz Schapiro and Zalman Minkowitz. It was interesting to note that many of the fathers of the bochurim who spoke were talmidim in Oholei Torah.

A special mention was made in memory of Hatomim Nosson Noteh ben R’Zalman Deitsch o”h., a dear friend of many of the bochurim, who was zoche to be a shliach from the Oholei Torah Zal just two years ago.

The official list of the Talmidei Shluchim will be released in a short while, but in order to accommodate that everyone can participate in this event, the Hanholas Hayeshiva made the celebration just before the yeshiva Zman ends.

The evening was organized and chaired by Rabbi Nosson Blumes who runs the Alumni affairs of Oholei Torah.

  • If you heard any rumors please post

So lets start hearing the rumors where everyone is being sent.

  • ZAL parent

I’m afraid that my son who is a Chassidish, smart Tishrei Bochur will miss the “best” Shlichus because his birthday is days over the cutoff. I bet he isn’t getting Shlichus or he’ll be given the bottom of the pit. I can’t afford to keep paying this tuition and he wants the experience of Shlichus like his brother had. If tuition was free for these Bochurim it would be something. I’m paying $10,000 for a chair in ZAL which is crazy.

  • To Zal Parent

Being you write, you are a Zal “parent” – Means you are the parent – the one to educate and raise your children. I ask you how can you say that a shlichus is a “bottom if the pit”??!! A shlilchus is a Shlichus! yes there are moer attractive shlichusim and others that are perhaps not a flashy, but to call a shlichus bottom of the pit?? what message does that give your son?

  • Grateful mom

Thanks to all the hanhola and staff at Ohlei Torah for everything you hv edone for my son.

  • most humble tomim

‘most elite Tmimim’ sounds to me like an obnoxious oxymoron.

To #6: I couldn’t agree more. It’s time to stop playing the snob game in Lubavitch….doubt it will end anytime soon though….
