This Sunday Groundbreaking for New Womens Mikvah!
Last week the plans for the new womens Mikvah on Lefferts and Troy were approved and this Sunday there will be a groundbreaking. The entire community is invited to watch, say Mazal Tov and have a Lechaim!
The event will take place this Sunday, June 13, and will take place from 11:00am to 12:00pm, and the entire community is invited!
This new Mikvah is being dedicated in the name of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson for the benefit of all women in Crown Heights, and will ease the pressure on the current, and only, woman Mikvah.
According to the plans, the Mikvah was approved to build up to two feet of the street underground, and the building will only go up two floors, as to not detract from the neighboring building’s windows and porches, yet still giving the building over 5000 square feet.
soo excited
mazal tov….

This is amazing. We all owe a great deal of gratitude to all of those involved on this project.
Cant wait
sooooo excited!! the Union st Mikvah now is so packed! U can wait there 2 hours, and our community is BH growing so we need to have more than 1 Mikvah!
wondering
I don’t mind another Mikva, but I wonder what the owners of the first floor condos right next door think about this. A two story building so close by – of what use will their windows be? I hope due consideration was given to them.
to #3 two hours???
not so sure that that’s true
TO 4
no need to worry! the construction will be stopped within no time with a single dial to 411 saying thaT THE CRANE’S CROOKED. NONE OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE CONDOS APPROVE OF THE MIKVA, SO EVERYONE WILL SEE IT… IN A MILLION YEARS. IN SHORT, IT AINT HAPPENIN TOO FAST
To 6
for your information, 411 is a line you call for number Directory.
Don’t try and destroy! try and build!!!
rochel
just curious and practical
-will there be extra security when women have to walk back home so late at night from lefferts and troy?
So sick of the animosity
You are a bunch of sickos. At last someone is taking a stand and doing something about teh abismal CH mikvah situation. All you can do is knock knock knock it. What have you ever done to improve the community other than sit on your couch with your beer and anonymously bash?
MAVIN
AS USUAL, NOTHING WILL STOP SOME PEOPLE FROM GETTING IN TO THE NEWS HEADLINES. DID ANYONE TOUGHT ON THE DEMAGE IT DOS TO THE NEIGHBERS?? OR THE FACT THAT IT’S WIDE OPEN FOR ANYONE TO WATCH THE WOMEN’S??? IT’S A NICE IDEA, BUT THE WRONG PLACE. IS COMMEN SENS SO HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS????
awacs
“the Mikvah was approved to build up to two feet of the street underground”
Uh, can we have this translated into English, please?
to #11
to #11″
its called a street vault- google it
message for #6
to #6: keep calling 411…lolol… and just FYI I am a resident of that building and I DO approve of the mikvah – its not going to block anyones view so why would you care?
where-s the privicy.
where’s the privacy. let them build another 2 or a million mikva’s in ch, publicizing it on the news, is very wrong.

to everyone complaining: if you dont want to go this mikvah, dont.
but there are alot of other people who are private and sensitive people and can NOT stand how the crown heights is tiny, you meet everyone you know, some of the mikvah ladies are insensitive and you have a to wait in a waiting room with 5 other women or wait in a dirty laundry cupboard.
wake up crown heights! we need more than two mivkahs! thank you to bais shmuel to give me something to look forward too. can not wait to use the mikvah.
and a note to all the MARRIED MEN – you KNOW where the mivkah is, why are you casually walking by in the evenings????? CROSS the road, or better yet, take a detour!
proud beis shmuel member
enough! why is this neiberhood so riddled with people who cannot stand when somone else does somthing good for the community and has some limelight ,there is no doubt that this mikvah is way overdue ,women our very owen family members have bad expiriances in the other mikva ,not trying to bash it at all ,but it is ovewelming with so many people many times women wait a long time for there turn .have been forgotten about for more than an hour and there is need for this so stop bashing it and do somthing costructive like cotributing to it
