Vote to Reverse Traffic Direction on Malbone Street
Residents voted last week to have the direction of traffic on Malbone Street reversed, and it will now be possible to make a left turn into the street from New York Avenue, legally.
For the longest time Malbone residents were forced to have to go an extra 3 or 4 blocks in order to get into their street, with the only access from Clove Road is from Montgomery Street, now access will be permitted directly from New York Avenue.
On a side note, Clove Road is still designated as an archeological dig site, since it is believed to the site of the Bedford Pass of the Battle of Brooklyn/The American Revolution. It is this that has held up the proper pavement of the road.

Whens the vote to reverse huebner off malbone st and out of crown heights?

The block didn’t vote for this. The board (bored) decided without notifying anyone that this must be in everyone’s interest. So why bother to mention a minor detail like this to anyone. But that’s how the’ve always run things. Nothing new here. It would have been nice if the 36 plus residents would have had the chance to decide this and not just these leidigayers.

how were the condos built right there if it’s an historical archeological site?

When is this happening?

Will we also be able to come down Clove, or is that reversing direction as well?

Clove Road is one of the oldest roads in the city of NY. The actuall bricks are a few hundred years old.
There was talk at one time to turn the streen into a historical park/plaza and restore it to it’s origianl look

No parking on Malbone
better they should make Malbone a private street so the residents would have where to park and NOT the police!

Chanina and the Mayor approved this?

To re-emphasize the earlier post. We did not vote for this. It is not a bad idea, but we had no say or input in the matter. I would suggest you correct that part of your story.

Does reversing the traffic direction mean people will have to drive backwards?
excuse me

the board had no say in this matter fyi so before you are soooo quick to judge your fellow neighbors, ask, inquire, do some research, or maybe better yet–show up to a meeting at your local community board and see for yourself!
