Some of the emails simply asked “who died?” which I relayed to Reb Mendel, who’s response was “people shouldn’t have such a negative outlook! They should be happy, another whole day to prepare for Rosh Hashana!” in his famous humorous tone.

It was a call for new elections for the functionally dead Crown Heights Jewish Community Council board. The elections will have to come sooner or later, because Rubashkin will be sentenced before the end of the Roman year. And Chanina has been readying his campaign.

I thought that was for the last moment to blow the Shofar in month Elul. I remember immediately that I had not blown for my family in that day and started to blow with the siren.

when i heard it, i knew it was NOT the shofar of Moshiach. That would be something different. I told my kids, its not the alarm for moshiach, but its a mistake! If it was moshiach, You would hear the shofar!!!!!!!! Or read it on CH info.
