Hit and Run Driver In Crown Heights Tracked Down, Arrested in Boro Park, Thanks to Shomrim Collaboration

At approximately 10:00 PM, a marked Shomrim patrol vehicle was flagged down regarding a hit-and-run that had occurred minutes earlier. Using Shomrim’s robust operations system, units quickly identified the offending vehicle and entered its information into the system.

Approximately 30 minutes later, our operations team was able to track the vehicle in Boro Park, where Boro Park Shomrim successfully located the car. The perpetrator was taken into custody with the assistance of the NYPD 66th and 71st Precincts.

Excellent collaboration between Crown Heights and Boro Park Shomrim, together with the NYPD.

  • Dangerous Intersection

I consider myself very spatially aware. This intersection of Empire and Brooklyn is very scary.

Drivers are coming down the hill and act as if it’s not one of the busiest intersections because of girls walking to/from Beis Rivkah etc… extremely aggressive drivers turning both right and left.

Talk about a place where red light camera and constant supervision would be warranted I’d say yes here
