Weeks After Crown Heights Theft, A Prolific Thief Gets Busted For Thousands In Stolen Items

He broke in wearing a mask. He thought he got away with it. He was wrong.

A few weeks ago, a prolific thief stole several thousands of dollars worth of computers after breaking into a local Crown Heights business. At first, it seems he would have gotten away clean thanks to his mask and disguise, but thanks to the swift response of Shomrim’s operations team, they were able to track his movements before, during, and after the theft.

This technological sleuthing allowed Shomrim to ultimately identifying the perpetrator, and today he was arrested thanks to a sharp-eyed Shomrim volunteer.

Aware of his identity, a Shomrim volunteer was able to identify the thief as he made his way on a Crown Heights street. Thanks to a strong collaboration with the NYPD’s 71st Precinct, the thief was soon finding the need to justify himself to a judge.
