by CrownHeights.info

A deranged offender was (re)arrested Motzei Shabbos after a series of threats and anti-Semitic outbursts. The offender had initially threatened community members and shouted “Free Palestine” Shabbos day, and was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation, released, and then arrested for assault in front of 770 Motzei Shabbos.

“At approximately 8 p.m. Shabbos evening, Shomrim responded within two minutes to a report of a male chasing and threatening community members and shouting “Free Palestine”, Crown Heights Shomrim wrote. “Upon arrival, our volunteers found the individual holding a brick. Shomrim successfully deescalated the situation and kept him calm until the NYPD arrived. The subject was taken to the hospital for evaluation as an emotionally disturbed person.”

A few hours later, Shomrim again responded to reports of this man, this time for an assault near Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue. It turned out that the individual involved had been released from the hospital and had returned to the area, where he resumed assaulting people and shouting “Free Palestine” and “I’m gonna kill you” at community members.

He was ultimately placed under arrest by the NYPD in front of 770 Eastern Parkway.
