A 36-year-old woman was arrested this week after being accused of threatening to send explosives to the Palm Springs Chabad. The woman was arrested Wednesday at her home in Desert Hot Springs and charged with a hate crime.

A press release from the Palm Springs Police Department reported that on April 3, 2025, the Palm Springs Police Department initiated an investigation following reported criminal threats directed at the Palm Springs Chabad, located at 250 E. Palm Canyon Drive.

The suspect, identified as Gohar Kagramanyan (36), threatened to send explosives to the Palm Springs Chabad and expressed intent to kill the victim and others associated with the organization.

Following a thorough investigation, PSPD Detectives obtained both an arrest warrant and a search warrant for Kagramanyan’s residence in the City of Desert Hot Springs. On April 9, 2025, both warrants were served, and Kagramanyan was located at her residence and arrested without incident.

Kagramanyan was booked for the following violations:

– Penal Code 422(a) – Criminal Threats (Felony)

– Penal Code 422.6(a) – Hate Crime (Misdemeanor)

Due to the nature and severity of the threats, detectives obtained a bail enhancement, and Kagramanyan is currently being held on $500,000 bail at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, Banning, CA.

“The Palm Springs Police Department takes all threats of violence and hate-motivated crimes extremely seriously,” the Palm Springs Police Department wrote. “We remain committed to protecting the safety and security of all members of our community.”
