Vehicle Recovered After Teen Steal Van In Crown Heights

If it ain’t locked, they will steal it.
A Crown Heights family got a nasty surprise this week after they came returned to their van left open for just a brief period to find that the car had been stolen.
Crown Heights Shomrim was notified and was able to find video footage of the theft, showing a group of teens as they walked by the van and one of them hopped into the open car and drove off. The volunteers were able to determine that the car had been driven out of the Crown Heights area soon after the theft.
A police report was made by the victim and the car resurfaced hours later, parked and abandoned on Beverly and E48th in Brooklyn.
The car was recovered by the police and returned to its rightful owner.
