A Package Menace Is Facing a Reckoning Sunday After Shomrim Facilitates His Arrest In Crown Heights

It’s hard to be do enough damage in a community to be termed a “Menace”, but one person richly deserving the name is now facing a reckoning after Crown Heights Shomrim facilitated his arrest Sunday.
“The serial package thief that we posted about earlier today was apprehended thanks to great collaboration by our dedicated units and the @NYPD71PCT officers,” Crown Heights Shomrim wrote on Twitter.
Shomrim has been after this man for an extended period of time, lining up multiple police reports and compiling footage of him stealing packages from Crown Heights residents. Finally, today, was his day of reconning.
Earlier in the day Shomrim had been notified of another theft this menace had done, and with a police report in hand, they went on the hunt. It didn’t take long, with a Crown Heights Shomrim volunteer spotting the thief on the street soon after. The police were notified and within a few minutes, the man was stopped and in handcuffs.
According to Crown Heights Shomrim, this thief had the habit of putting on a Yarmulka and using his “new” appearance to help him steal more from the community.
