Report: East Flatbush Gunman Shot and Killed by Police Was Firing at Mugger

The gunman shot and killed by police in Brooklyn on Monday was firing at a couple that was trying to mug him, according to law enforcement sources.

The 20-year-old man was chasing and shooting at a man, 19, and a woman near Remsen Avenue and East 57th Street in East Flatbush around 5:50 p.m., according to the NYPD. Sources said that the gunman was arguing with the couple who tried to mug him before shots rang out.

Uniformed officers in an unmarked car then spotted the 20-year-old man firing multiple rounds before discharging their weapons, hitting the man several times, police said. The 20-year-old man died at the hospital. His gun was recovered at the scene.

      The victim, 20 yr old, was shooting as he chased the muggers, on a Jewish block, putting innocent people in danger.
      Once the muggers ran away, what right did he have to keep shooting?
      What was he doing with a gun anyways?
