Gunpoint Robbery Foiled In Crown Heights Monday Night

An attempted mugger was scared away Monday night after his victim began screaming for help on the streets of Crown Heights.

The incident took place on Maple Street when an attempted mugger approached a victim on the street and pulled out what appeared to be a firearm and attempted to rob his victim. Instead of an easy mugging, the victim began to scream at the top of his lungs, bringing attention to the crime and scaring the would be mugger. Gas can in hand, the mugger took off running without having completed his crime.

A neighbor, hearing the cries for help, saw that the victim needed help and called Crown Heights Shomrim. The Shomrim volunteers and the police responded quickly but were unable to locate the would be mugger.
