Your Package Might Be Delayed, Crown Heights’s Amazon Deliveryman Arrested Over Stolen Package

We apologize, but your Amazon packages in Crown Heights might be arriving with a slight delay today due to your local Amazon deliveryman being arrested over a stolen package.
The story of the stolen package broke on CrownHeights.info Thursday, reporting that an Amazon deliveryman had been caught on camera stealing a package left in a Crown Heights building just an hour before. The story went viral, Amazon was informed, but they apparently didn’t inform the actual deliveryman who showed up with a sack full of packages Friday ready to be delivered.
The victim of the theft was watching though, and contacted Crown Heights Shomrim and 911.
After a quick investigation, and thanks to the victim having filed a police report, the deliveryman was taken to the precinct in handcuffs, and his van and packages taken with him.
According to the victim, Amazon appears to be taking the incident seriously, having launched their own investigation and thanking them for reporting the incident.
