Police apprehend Mugger

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Sunday at around 7:30 PM, a 17 year old Bochur who was talking on the phone, walking on Eastern Pkwy from Albany towards Kingston Ave, was accosted by a Black male, who demanded his cell phone.

The Bochur did not give in, and refused to hand the cell phone over. The perpetrator realizing he wont get his way tried to make a run for it and ran to Albany and then towards Empire Blvd.

The bochur then called the 911 and started to chase him.

Meanwhile somewhere on Albany Ave between Empire Blvd and Eastern Pkwy a patrolling undercover Police car saw a suspicious man running and decided to stop him for questioning.

The Bochur who was chasing about a half a block away saw the Police officers stop the perpetrator, the bochur then approached the Police and stated; “This man just tried to mug me”.

The Police officers then proceeded to arrest the perpetrator and bring him down to the precinct.

The boy was brought to the precinct by Police where upon realizing he was a minor called Shomrim to help file the Police report.

    But it’s *not* thousands. It may not even be hundreds. It may be just a dozen or so teenagers – that’s why it’s so important to get just one off the streets. There’s only so many that are *really* bad.

    When you speak on a cell phone you are distracted by the conversation and therefore are not aware of what’s happening around you. Instead of being a tool for safety the cell phone becomes a liability. Just like when your driving a car. Does anyone out there understand this??????????

    The violence and muggings seem to be on the rise in Crown Heights and yet I barely see any police. Tishrei is approaching and teenagers walk the streets till all hours of the morning. I know how proud everyone is with shomrim but they are definitly not a constant presence. They need to patrol the streets block by block.

    I think shomrim/police should go undercover and "bust" these thugs when they attack.

    They did this a few years ago in Stamford Hill London where the cop dressed up as a Chasidishe.

    It can actually be a good deterence.

    Here we go again!! The PC liberals (this time "awacs") are off & running.

    There ARE thousands of lowlifes OF ONE MAIN COLOR (& it ain’t white!!) who get their kicks, $$, & power from beating up & robbing innocent people. And the police rarely do anything. This time they did. Why? Could it be they’re afraid that there’ll be riots during Tishrei?

    Let’s see what you’ll do & how you’ll feel if it happens to you. You PC’s won’t be so PC then, I bet!!

    It’s great that shomrim and CrownHeight.info are urging everyone to be careful, but I would urge people to try not to walk alone at night!
    We’re coming to C"H I"Yh for Sukkos, and I really don’t even want my husband to walk alone at night………at least try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The mugger in miami will only see one thing when trying to rob me and that is the barrel of my .45.

    The arab here in Chevron will only see one thing when attacking me.. and that is the barrel of my .45 and eventualy my 230 gr jacketed hollow point fedral hydra shocks slaming into him.
