Bochur Attacked with Glass Bottle and Robbed
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] – At around 11:45pm last night the Shomrim hotline received a call for a Bochur that was assaulted with a glass bottle and mugged while on his way home.
Shomrim members responded to President Street and Schenectady Avenue, the corner where the Bochur was assaulted, and began searching for the group that attacked him, in the meantime the Bochur received treatment from Hatzalah on Crown Street between Utica and Schenectady, in front of the apartment he is staying by.

The Bochur recapped the incident to Shomrim members, how he was walking home when he was suddenly accosted on President and Schenectady from behind, without any words exchanged, a glass bottle was smashed over his head while a second perp pushed him to the ground. They took his MP3 player, but the Bochur got back up and tried to fight back.
At the point the group just turned around and casually walked away towards Troy Avenue, the Bochur said that “they didnt even run, they weren’t afraid”. He described the group of around 6 Black males around the ages of 16 to 19.
The Bochur sustained a concussion to his head along with a gash that caused arterial bleeding, he was transported to Kings County Hospital where he received medical treatment, which included stitches to his head.
Patrolling members spotted a group with one of them matching the description given by the victim. They stopped the group and radioed other members to tell police officers that they were holding a group, officers immediately responded and began questioning the group. No arrests were made since the only person who was able to identify them for this assault was in KCH receiving medical treatment.
Officers took their information and plan to stick them in a few line-ups for the victim to identify them.
This is the second serious assault in two days. In an incident that took place on Tuesday night a Yungerman that had just moved to Crown Heights with his wife, was on his way home at around 1:00am and he was viciously assaulted on the corner of Crown Street and Albany Avenue.
The Yungerman lost 5 teeth in the attack which the perps used a baseball bat on his face. They also stole his phone, a blackberry, which he was talking on just before the assault. The Yungerman was treated by KBJ EMS and was transported to Kings County Hospital where he received treatment for injuries.
Officers believe that the two assailants in this case may have a relation to the recent incident and are investigating that possibility.
Two serious assaults in two nights and the summer is coming to a close. Labor Day is a mere two weeks away, and is showing no signs of letting up.

I was also attacked by a black boy (13 years old!- sporting a ‘gun’)2 yrs. ago and my son was attacked by 3 black boys @ 1 in the afternoon!(on Montgomery & Albany) early June; and in both incidents they JUST WALK AWAY SLOWLY- like they don’t have a care in the world.
And then to prosecute, WE have to take time off from work/school, and WE lose time & money.

I think it is time for the police to set up another command station and a police tower in the area. Shomrim needs to recruit more members and have night sticks and dazers. We need to show and active presence. If not this situation is only going to escalate. To hear, “I told you so” after incidents like this does not work when lives are at stake.
Shomrim and the police must take preventative measures. There also should be well publicised, professional self-defense classes on hand available to all members of the community.

We actually heard the bottle hit him. I immediately called 911 and shomrim, thinking a car got hit with the bottle. The 71st Pct. took 10 ! minutes to send a patrol car by. ! This is insane! I called the Pct. and V-O-L-A-N-T-E-E-R-E-D the front room of my home to set up a "crow’s nest" where N.Y.P.D. detectives could observe this Fisher building and I"Y" Ha-Shem, pinch these perps. I want to tell you the whole story of what happened. Thursday night, my neice and her friend went walking. They noticed some Shvartze garbage walking behind them, but didnt think much of it. Suddenly, they heard them talking. They were saying that they wanted to rough up the girls. Then they said that they saw a guy by himself, and they would rather attack him. My neice ran inside her house, and called the cops immediately. When she came out,, it was too late. When the cops took them down to the precinct to make official statements, they showed my neice and her friend a surveillance video of the guys,, the girls were followed for a square block,,,, they didnt realize.

P.S., my daughter was attacked and hit in the head with a pipe wrench last summer on Eastern Parkway. She blacked out and fell down. The attacker (probably a drug addict) was bending over her and about to hit her again, when someone – a nonjewish resident – from one of the apartments overlooking Eastern Parkway – yelled and scared the attacker away. If it wasnt for that person intervening, my sweet gentle daughter would have had more than the concussion and stitches that she unfortunately suffered. Nuff said.
