Package Thief Walks Into Crown Heights Building, Steals Packages While People Watch

If you see something, don’t just stand there, get involved.

A package thief showed just how little he thinks of the Jewish residents of Crown Heights when he got caught red handed stealing from a Jewish building, and just kept on going.

Surveillance video caught the incident in the lobby of 1414 President Street Shabbos morning as the thief walks into the building and spies multiple packages left seemingly unattended. Nonchalantly, the thief pulls out a large shopping bag from his knapsack and is about to begin stuffing it with stolen goods when a bochur steps out into the lobby.

At first, the thief appears to pause as he speaks with the bochur, but soon continues loading packages as a second bochur joins the first.

Together, the two attempted to stop the thief, only to have him brush past their attempts to stop him and walk out the door.

“If you see something do something, or if you can’t do something say something,” a Crown Heights resident said after seeing the video.

Another video published this month showed a young Jewish boy being harassed and manhandled on a Crown Heights street, all in front of multiple witnesses. The video garnered thousands of views and highlighted the need for community involvement.

If you see something, do or at least say something.
