BREAKING: Arrest Made In The Brutal Assault and Beating Of Jewish Activist in Crown Heights

by CrownHeights.info

Two weeks after Crown Heights resident and activist Yosef Hershkop was cornered and beaten on a Crown Heights street, the NYPD has made an arrest.

“Breaking! One under arrest in the brutal assault of @yossy770,” Shomrim Tweeted. “Great work by our Volunteers in collaboration with the @NYPD71Pct Detectives. #ItsWhatWeDo.”

As previously reported on CrownHeights.info, the incident took place on Montgomery Street in Crown Heights as Yosef Hershkop was attempting to park his car. During his attempt, they claimed that he had bumped the car behind him, a phenomenon that is hardly uncommon in the crowded Borough of Brooklyn.

What is uncommon was the response from the people in the car.

Apparently infuriated, the thugs began to follow Hershkop as he searched for another parking spot, catching up to him a block later and cutting him off with their vehicle. The violent exchange that ensued was caught on surveillance video that showed the brutal beatdown as the gang of thugs pummeling his while he, and his son, were still inside the car, causing significant injuries to his face. After being hit more than ten times, the gang dispersed and fled the scene.

Video of the assault went viral and the story was picked up by all major local news networks and activists.

Earlier this week, Yosef Hershkop took to Twitter to lament the slow progress in the investigation, triggering a further outcry that the thugs who perpetrated the assault were still at large.

Whether the moment was just right, or the pressure worked, one of the assailants is now in custody.

What? Only one perp arrested after waiting 2 weeks? There were three or more. Use your supposed good relationship with 71 and get the other thugs.
