Window Smashing Bandit is Back At It, Targets Multiple Cars In Crown Heights

by CrownHeights.info

It’s open season for petty criminals on the streets on New York City these days, and they are taking advantage.

A thief whose “MO” is to break the rear window of a vehicle to pick through what is in the trunk may have struck again last night, targeting at least two vehicles on Carroll Street.

Residents came out on Carroll Street between Schenectady and Utica Thursday morning to find no fewer than two vehicles with their rear windows broken, and contents rummaged through.

A thief was caught on camera just a few weeks ago targeting a Hatzalah emergency vehicle just around the corner, making off with thousands of dollars worth of lifesaving equipment.

According to neighbors, the perpetrator was a regular in the area, and with the help of some locals, the stolen equipment was located.

A police report has reportedly been filed by at least one of last night’s victims, but with the present lack of accountability for crimes committed, little is expected to be done.

CrownHeights.info would like to remind everyone to please remove all valuables from your vehicle before leaving it for the night, and double check that your vehicle is secured.
